  • Tech Poem

This is a good example of too much extra time available at our institutions of higher learning!

In honor of computer symbology's increased role in our vocabulary,
INFOCUS published the following poem, written by Fred Bremmer and Steve Kroese of
CalvinCollege & Seminary of Grand Rapids, MI.

    >> ! * ' ' #
    ^ " ` $ $ -
    ! * = @ $ _
    % * < > ~ # 4
    & [ ] . . /
    | { , , SYSTEM HALTED

The poem can only be appreciated by reading it aloud, to wit:

Waka waka bang splat tick tick hash,
Caret quote back-tick dollar dollar dash,
Bang splat equal at dollar under-score,
Percent splat waka waka tilde number four,
Ampersand bracket bracket dot dot slash,
    Vertical-bar curly-bracket comma comma CRASH.

I hope Messrs Bremmer and Kroese are as diligent with their studies as they are at wasting their time

Waka? Never heard that before, but I guess it is more poetic than 'greater than'.
      Shouldn't it be left-waka and right-waka or some-such?

      And surely | is pipe?

No laurate coming to them methinks

          > waka probably has to do with Pac-Man.

Still pretty funny, but can be improved... might give it a shot during those off hours...
