    I'm not sure how well known this player is but it is best one I have come to use so far. It appears to play almost every format including .mov and .ogm format.

      Im using it for a very long time now too.
      But its not very widespread afaik.
      Another very good player is the Media player classic.
      I use both to preview partialy downloaded files.

        absolutely agree, one of the best and underrated players around. Uses internal codes, so you don't need to care for all the codec mess, plays absolut anything, plays partial downloaded movies ...

          and DVDs. Though I use bsplayer for all my non mpeg stuff, just like the interface better
