  • Null soundcard driver

I have problems running few little aps (games) on a computer with no sound. From their behaviour I strongly suspect that they require a soundcard. So..does there exist a driver that will mimick a real hardware, even if it's not there? (for win2k)

I think Totalrecorder does this - as well as letting you record every sound that's played through it. Yes, I think this app installs itself as a virtual soundcard, I think I've read that.

There's an Opera in my macbook.

Totalrecorde doesn't work - whta the mess it leaves in device manager after installation I assume that it works in cooperation with existeing soundcard drivers (well, certainly no soundcard shoved)

@Utwig - how am I suppose to do this today? Or tommorow? (it's just meant as a solution for today & tommorow - this isn't my main pc anyway)

        Still searching on google...

I suggested hardware solution due to mess, software solution would probably leave in device manager.

Open online adds page, find a soundcard, meet with seller on a coffe or borrow from friend, existing box or from used hardware drawer.

Nah, mess is gone...and do you think I wouldn't do few things you suggest if I could?
Oh well, in worst case I'll wait till I have acces to my main machine...

There is a little driver that used your motherboard speaker for sound, It was for win 9x , I don't know if there is a win2k/xp version around though.

                Can't find any driver either.

The MS link is this one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q138857/

For win95...winME. There's an older version for win3.x somewhere too.

Any idea for a program that would do the same thing for 2k/xp?
