  • Surround gaming with portrait displays?

Hello. I am thinking about getting a Parhelia card for the ability to do surround gaming, but there's a catch. I run my three monitors all in portrait mode (1024x1280), and don't have any interest in changing that.

Anybody know if the Parhelia can run three monitors in span mode, while having them rotated to portrait mode? Either with the Matrox drivers or in combination with third-party software such as PivotPro?

I wouldn't mind (and in fact expect) having to drop down the resolution for surround gaming, but if it only works with standard landscape orientation, then gaming bliss eludes me once again

I'm not sure, but I think not by drivers. With 3d party might be possible. I recommend posting on Matrox official tech support fora - they are closed for weekends, should open by 9 EST.

3 monitors in portrait sounds ideal to me - I'd love to see a picture.

        Nope

Well, after browsing through the Matrox forums, the answer is a resounding no. That's almost as dumb as not being able to browse their tech support forums on the weekend :P

Guess I won't be getting one after all.
