  • McKenzie River Trail, Oregon

Did a day hike with my friend out to Tamolitch Pool and Koosah Falls along the McKenzie River.

    Check it out

I think I need practice taking shots of waterfalls though. Hard to get them focused correctly.

    Nice pics

There are two issues with waterfalls: The autofocus may ave problems focusing on the moving water, try prefocusing on the walls next to the water and then reframing the shot, and you either want a very short exposure time to get a "frozen in motion" look (you may have to turn up ISO and/or use a larger aperture (lower F-number!) if you're not shooting in the brightest sunlight), or you want the "smooth water" look, then you must use a long exposure time. In bright daylight, it's not enough to just shoot low ISO with a small aperture, you will have to use a gray filter (and a tripod, of course). I don't know if a polarizing filter would help with the mist. Either way, I like the pics
