I really like my 9800 Pro, it's doing well for me. What's a "really good price?" What games were you thinking of playing?
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
It's a very fast card. Even the latest games will run from really good to great on it. You may not always be able to turn up all of the eye candy (AA, AF) but it is a small sacrifice IMO.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
BF runs and looks awesome with that card. You will not be disappointed.
HL2 will run damn good and look good too.
D3 will be a little slower than the rest (due to the OGL drivers) but should still run decent.
BF2 remains to be seen
BTW, just to give you an example, on my 9700 Pro I could run FarCry at 1024x768 with no AA/AF. With my new X800 PE, I can turn on 4xAA/16xAF (and then some ...)
So as you can see, any game in the FarCry era will run really damn good on that card.

I don't think you will be disappointed, I know i wasn't when i got mine.
As the others have said, it might not be on the bleeding edge of performance as it currently stands, but it's not really that far removed from it either...
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Motherboard, Intel Core i7 2600K CPU @ 4.3GHz, G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB DDR3 Ram, Pioneer DVR-219L DVDRW, OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD, Western Digital Black 1TB SATA HDD, Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB, Everything being driven by Windows 10 Professional (64Bit)...
I have a 128MB 9800Pro, and it plays all those games just fine. You won't be disappointed at that price.
By the way, where'd you order it from?
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox
The card is good, but you might want to consider changing processors. I have an XP running @ 2400+ speeds, and I think it's becoming the limit in many games.
