No, this is not about it being too slow

After my AIW 8500 died, I went back to my good old G400 Max, and it works fine for 2D, video etc, but when I start playing some (older) 3D games, my PC crashes after a while, showing a corrupted image, that looks like the video mem has been overclocked (which it has not).

Is this a sign, that my card will soon die, or is it just a sign that my case is not cool (temperature wise, never looked cool anyway ) enough?

Could also been a driver issue. MAybe part of the Ati driver has not been properly removed.
    System : ASUS A8N SLI premium, Athlon 64X2 3800+, 2Gb, T7K500 320Gb SATAII, T7K250 250Gb SATAII, T7K250 250Gb ATA133, Nec ND-3520, Plextor PX130A, SB Audigy 2, Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO, 24" Dell 2407WFP.

Yep, that was it. Did a clean reinstall of WinXP the other day anyway, but didn't bother to check on my cards 3D after that, but now it seems to be working.

Thanks a lot, I was getting worried
