  • Scanner crapping out?

    Well first time i've used my scanner in ages today...its an HP Scanjet 2300C and heres the results I'm getting scanning in APS print...is the scanner going or is it something else?

    Sure looks like either the light or the pickup is going on the Fritz.

    From the vertical banding just to the right of center it looks to me more like the pickup.

      which is the scan direction ?
      could be dust in the calibration area just under the edge at the starting point of scan.

            is it high gloss paper for the pic? reflecting?

              just plain ole white copier paper that I print out on

                How long did you let the lamp warm up in each case ?

                Try scanning a piece of black construction paper ( or the cover if it is black).

                Sometimes an unstable or dirty power supply can create color weirdness.
