  • Finding Neverland

    Johnny Depp has done it again. I could type for hours, but this review in the Detroit News says it all;

Get the latest local Detroit and Michigan breaking news and analysis , sports and scores, photos, video and more from The Detroit News.

Finding Neverland is based on the play "The Man Who Was Peter Pan"

Johnny Depp plays J.M. Barrie, the married but childless playwright whose friendship with the young sons of a widow played by Kate Winslet inspired him to write Peter Pan.

    Magical.....

If he doesn't get an Oscar nomination for this performance someone needs to get nuked....twice. In fact the whole flick needs a basket full of nominations with Kate Winslett and director Marc Foster being the other two obvious candidates for individual honors.

Marc Forster also directed "Monster's Ball"

Keep your eyes open for the "wall" scene.

You'll definitely know it when you see it

            No, wish I had.

The one I did see was Robin Williams

James Lipton, who is usually very much in control of the program, sat there looking helpless and hopeless as Robin went off like a tactical nuke

            Ex:
What brought you from Chicago to Detroit? (in the meaning of WHY did you move from Chicago to Detroit)

A plane. So sad when you give prozac to a cat. It just sits in the corner going: "Me". My mother was a Christian Dior Scientist. She was very....she was really the kinda part of my whole comedy upbringing.

            What about your dad?

            Oh, very elegant man.

            Very elegant?

Yeah, very kinda reserved, except after a couple of cocktails. He'd go, you know, very happy. Not like "Wo-hoo, look who's on the table!" No, he would: "What? Do you want a car?!" I'm 5. "OK!"

            What's your middle name?

            McLaurim. That's Irish.

            It is Irish.

Ya, and then I'm also Welsh, which means every time so often I have to occupy myself.

Did you get your degree form Juilliard?

No, I have no degree. I have an honorary degree from Juilliard which is kinda like a nerf vibrator, you know. Nice to look at, but doesn't do a lot. I have no degrees from any collages yet.
            And so it went
