  • Updated MSPro 7.2 patch imminent....

    My little gremlins tell me that a new version of the 7.2 patch will be posted sometime in the next few days. The new version number will be 7.20.0006.

    The release order will be English first followed by German a couple of days later then at intervals of from a couple to a few days French, Japanese, Chinese Traditional, Italian and Spanish.

    They aren't up on the website yet, but here are the English version;

    ftp://ftp.ulead.com.tw/pub/Updates/MSP7/msp7sp2_e.exe

    and the German version;

    ftp://ftp.ulead.com.tw/pub/Updates/MSP7/msp7sp2_g.exe

    ~24 megs each.

    The ones posted to the "normal" Ulead FTP's have a date of 11/4 while these are dated 11/16 and 11/17 respecively, so go for ones on the Taiwan FTP for now.

        Agreed

        BTW: this patch has a built-in uninstaller, so those who installed the previous build will have to run it twice: once to uninstall the old patch and once to install the new one.

        I'd probably reboot after installing it just to be on the safe side, even though it doesn't prompt you to do so.

          Two questions:
          1. I have not installed previous patches. Is it enough to install this patch or I have to install previously relased ones too?
          2.Has anybody checked this patch?

            1. Yes.

            2. I've installed it and ran the programs, but haven't had time to evaluate it. I do need a bit of sleep ya' know

              I found it installed over the previous version without doing it twice.

              The start-up in VE is now different; the traditional pause at 85% has gone. I hope to try it out tomorrow.

                Thx Doc
                Sleep? Why? It makes a day shorter

                I hope you guys post some comments about this patch.
                Unfortunately I am not too good in solving the problem "why it doesn't work"

                  The English version filename has been changed to 2.1_e, and it's now linked to the website, although it still retains the 11/17 date on it.

                    I posted a bit on the 2-pass rendering;

                    Most don't seem to be having a problem with it so far, but a couple of people on my DMN forum reported problems, but it seems related to a buildup of old crap from previous patches etc. Basically they were limited to the Pan & Zoom filter and MPEG 2-pass encoding.

                    The fix seems to be uninstalling MSPro, clearing out the Documents and Settings/(your name)/......./Ulead MediaStudio Pro/7.0/ folder and the MSPro entries in the registry then reinstalling MSPro and only the updated 7.20.0006 patch.

                    My installations (8 of 'em) seem to be working perfectly so far with the standardized test projects I use for such things.

                      I am rarther confused by the version number of the latest SP2. In the "About" of the VE it is showing 7.20.1006. Is this correct ?

                        Mine says 7.20.0006.

                        What is your MSP path -- did you come from a version of MSP 6.x to 7.0 to sp2, or did you come from an installation from 7.0 to sp2?

                        (mine came from MSP 7.0)

                            They've pulled a fast one on you, Doc. The currently posted file is "msp7sp2.1_e.exe". This is what's now linked to the website, and the version number when installed on VEditor is 7.20.1006

                              I can confirm that the version I have says 7.20.1006 when instaled. Downloaded from the Ulead site. The one on the FTP site also has the same version number.

                              cDynamics, I installed the patch on a straight v.7 (not upgeraded)

                              Can somebody clear this mess about the version number ?
