  • No DVD video any longer

    Hi all,

Don't know what I've done, but what I had working seems to have stopped... There is no video on the TV when playing DVDs.

    I have:
P750 with CRT + PAL TV in feature mode
    InterVideo Win DVD4

I have the RT.X10 and I also have an old Hauppauge TV card which has never worked on XP.

Things done recently... one or more of which have upset the machine... (in no particular order).

    1) Windows XP SP2 installed.
    2) Media Player 10 installed.
    3) Hauppauge drivers installed and uninstalled in yet another attempt to get it working again.
    4) RTX.10 drivers installed and uninstalled to see if I could capture video from analogue video camera as webcam.
    5) New Matrox P750 Video Drivers installed. (107.01)

    Things that happen...

    a) Video image appears on TV from Matrox PowerDesk HF.
    b) InterVideo WinDVD won't play DVDs at all! (Not on monitor or TV) - absolutely nothing happens.
    c) Windows Media Player no longer puts puts an image on the TV screen when playing mpegs (still shows on CRT)
    d) Windows Media Player shows no picture on CRT, but plays sound when trying to play a DVD (still has the horrible video screen res change on CRT)

    BTW... DVD Max is enabled.

Does anyone know which one (or many) of these things has fouled it up?

    Help will be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Taliska

      Hi GNEP,

Overlays are set up in PowerDesk (I guess that they would have to be set if the DVDMax option were on!?!)

Can't think where else it may be configured...

      Thanks,

        Hummm...

You do deserve an answer to what the problem was...

It wasn't to do with XP SP2...

Amongst the many things that I had done recently was to have NetMeeting running in the background - it was the culprit.

DXDiag complained that NetMeeting stopped it working, so stopped NetMeeting and DVD playback worked!

        Aaarrrggghhh..
