yeah my first install of suse 9.1(novell dvd giveaway) has left me impressed.

But i'll wait a little while before jumping onn the 9.2 bandwagon...

How well does suse handle upgrading versions?

What is the different between that and their workstation version.. Is the workstation version quicker?

I'm not sure about Suse... but most other RPM based distros have not upgraded well in the past. Though most of the time it's because of a major revision.... You could always just get the 9.2 and upgrade them manually. Personally, I just prefer Debian Unstable, so I can just upgrade whenever I feel like it... unfortunately sometimes things break, but usually it's fixed pretty quickly. And the added bonus with linux, is if something breaks in Gnome, I can always use KDE, or if something is even broken in both (which would be an extreme case indeed) then there are always a host of other window managers... Linux is great due to choice... most RPM distros though only really install either Gnome or KDE, and you have to manually install the other.

Anyone here tried the Ubuntu? (Besides Byock, I know he has) www.ubuntulinux.org Debian based and is looking sweet, though they only have a preview release and a LiveCD out now... check it out.

I've tried out the LiveCD of Ubuntu, and based on what I see, it should very well become my desktop linux distro of choice...
