Went too one machine that was having porno pop ups. While I was their I got the impression that the bloke wasn't all that striaght. As soon as I formed that impression he says the porno pop ups are all gay sites.

Machine was riddled with viri one which is associated with porno downloads and the other due to zero patches applied. Spyware was also there in great numbers.

Did he download them or was he unlucky.

Even better at work a work collegue has the same problem. Even better he can't get rid off it. Of course I tell everyone that he's downloading gay pron. :D :D :D To constant swearing and threats to my physical well being.

At the University Library there will be some people that look at porn right out in the open! And then the computer will freeze with a porn page and they quickly leave. The next person will come by and then go up to the help desk not sure what to say.

There was some sort of issue in Toronto about a guy surfing porn at the public library in the children's section.

I think the most they could do was ban surfing adult sites on that floor.

Anyone from the T.dot know the story?

I don't listen to q107 much; only when I'm working out. I like the music but I can't stand the DJs. Why does music have to be so pretentious?

Anyway, I must have picked it up from someone who is a fan.

In the end it's been traced to a new worm that is now ravenging all the student pc's.

Sadly the virus companies seem to be off the mark again. We've submitted a file to mcafee and are awaiting there response. Shades of an earlier virus where mcafee, Symantec, Sophos all had different solutions which didn't work as they missed off certain files.

Although I haven't worked on it bar the earlist example which was cleaned up without it returning. The worm it seems also installs spyware which downloads the worm again if cleared off.

Students with pop up blockers don't notice as the gay pop ups are blocked. Of course in the meantime they're broadcasting away.

At the moment the director of the computing department is worried that parents will be upset that they're children are subject to gay porn pop ups. Interesting question on whos legally responsible.
