  • Let's never forget

I just want to make my small post here to remember all of the victims of 9/11. May they all rest in peace.

I also want to thank all of the men and women who have lost there lives since then fighting for our country and helping to make a safer America. Yeah, I know, it may not be safer now, but they tried.

And last, I'd like to thank all of the countries that stood by our sides through thick and thin.

May we all someday find peace and happiness around the world...

        Who could forget?

I saw a really touching tribute to those firemen who died trying to save the tower victims. It was an episode of those wacky motorcycle designers, think its called "Chopper Garage", building a 9/11 tribute bike for one of the N.Y. fire companies which lost numerous firefighters in the tragedy. It really did your heart good to see them delivering this gorgeous bike to the fire house and watching the emotional reaction among those present. They waited to assemble the final piece of the bike until it was delivered .. the final piece was a bolt from the 9/11 rubble that they fitted onto the top of the tank as a monument. It was quite touching and genuinely appreciated by the fire fighters. God bless them all and all of us. I pray peace comes to everyone, despite those who intend otherwise.

          They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
          We will remember them.

May we one day all find peace

The fire fighters took part in the World Fire Fighters competion in Sheffield. They came round Brammell Lane at half time and got one of the biggest standing ovations I've seen there.

Yes 9/11 is still in my thoughts.

                Without their fierce devotion
                We are fragile and forlorn,
                Stumbling briefly, among the stars.

We and our futures belong to them
                Exquisitely, our beliefs and our
Breaths are made tangible in their love.

By their extravagant spirits, they draw us
                From the safe borders
And into the center of the center ring
There they urge dance upon our
                Leaden feet
                And to our sullen hearts,
                Bright laughter.

Not the crowd's roar nor the gasped
Breath of the timorous can stay their mission.

There is no moderation in their nature.
                They spit upon their fingers
To test the wind of history,
They slip into our bonds and steal us
Away from the slavery of cowardice.

They skin back their thin lips over fanged teeth and
Rocks in hand, in our presence
                Face down our Goliath.

These mothers, fathers, pastors and priests,
                These Rabbis, Imams and gurus,
Teach us by their valor and mold us with their courage.

                Without their fierce devotion
We are only forlorn and only fragile
                Stumbling briefly, among the stars.

Sep. 11, 2001, the world has stopped. Let us hope the next time will be for a better reason. Let us hope the tears will be of joy and that this day, and those before it will become a distant memory of 'modern dark ages'.

My mind keeps going to those heros on Flight 93 who fought the first actual battle in the War on Terror. I can only imagine what their families thought knowing from cell calls what they were going to do.....

My sister was in New York this past summer (work related) and the people there brought her to ground zero. When my sister returned with pictures, and stories from that trip I was speechless, as I still am.
