  • DV Scene Detect in PP7.0 capture

Hi all, long time no see...

Found 'Scene Detect' in the capture window - I can select it from the menu, but the button doesn't show up properly. On reading the manual I can see that Scene Detect is not supported when using the Matrox DV-1394 Device Control (Ref# 29521).

Okay, so Scenalyser can seem to do it, why can't PP?

Is there a workaround or fix or anything that I can do to get automatic scene detection working on PP's capture window?

I have other 1394 ports on the PC...

Can I *not* use the Matrox DV Control???

    Can anyone advise please.

    Many thanks,

    Taliska

    Hummm...

    Done a bit more digging...

Okay, so it appears that it don't work in PP7.0 (aka PP1.0) with the XTools 5078.

It's fixed in XTools 6122 that only works with PP1.5... aarrggghhh.

    So I have two choices...

Buy Scenalyser ($39) which does appear to work and stay with PP1.0

    OR

Upgrade to PP1.5 ($99) and use XTools 6122.

Any thoughts? Which way would you go?

    Thanks,
