  • tv can't get higher than 640 x 480 @ 60hz on G550

    Hello ,
I have a matrox g550 and a Loewe Xelos TV . Windows XP
Driver 5.92.006 is installed together with the cd-rom that came with the tv. But now... the only way i can get my screen to work fine is to set it at 640 x 480 @ 60hz.
From the moment i change my resolution my screen is fubar.
All sorts of lines and stuff , colors mixed up. you can't make nothing of it.
    Even on 800 x 600
Anyone knows what the problem here can be?
    Major Thx in advance

What model Loewe Xelos TV is it?
How are you connecting it to the G550?

Well, I can't find anything about that TV in english, so I don't know it's capabilities. It may not be capable of anything over 640x480, or it may require very specific res and refresh settings.

The start menu from xp takes 75% space of the tv, it's too big .
It can't be the max resolution... realy
The Tv has it's own keyboard , so it's build for pc/tv
Surfing at 640x480 is not comfortable.
From the moment i change something , it's scrambled , even 800x600 , makes you wan't to trash that F**** TV.
even my crappy Tomson can handle 1024x768

Perhaps you need this upgrade kit...?

Loewes web site is extremely vauge about what the TV can/can't do. But it seems you need this kit to make the TV fully PC compatible...

Yea, they don't work weekend, so they close the forums down to protect it from spammers and trolls.

                      thx, i sure will , i don't think it's the tv actually .
Think it's something with driver or config.

just a thought, but are you 100% positive you hooked your monitor and TV to the proper connectors on your G550 ?

In case you only had one CRT hooked up before you tried connecting your TV, you would have to change the port for that CRT, so that your VGA monitor is connected via DVI2VGA dongle and your TVout cable should be plugged into that VGA outlet for properly feeding your TV.

hmmm ... usually you could use any resolution and not only a specific one and that accounts for all DH modes, ie. Clone Mode as well as stretched and independant desktop.
