  • individual user profiles in XP

    Hello,

Weird thing here in my XP... I have 2 accounts, both systemadministrator (required for some softwares ).

Now, when one user changes the default browser (or default mailclient), it is also changed for the other user... Anyway to get these seperated ?
(both users have their own startmenu, their own desktop, their own 'my documents', ... so everyting looks seperated...)

    Jörg

PS: I'm running XP Pro SP2

    This is normal behavior.

You can check this utility to set it individually.

      thanks!
      (weird default policy )

Are there similar tools for mailclients?

After I posted this question, it hit me: most programs have a setting that allows you to set whether or not the program should check if it is the default one. Simply unchecking this option also gets rid of the behaviour...

You'd think with profiles you could set different browsers at least...I'd say it's a typical MS shortcoming...
