Memory may suffer a little, but still

I suppose I'll jump ship to the new Dual cores as soon as they're available and wait for these afterwards....

Although I probably would have bought a Quad by then (if they have AGP/PCIE). Mmmm, 16 way system...

just what space agency do you work for, which requires this much computing power as soon as it is available?

Someone else was supposed to make one then Sasq was supposed to choose between the two, it all got forgetton, that or my original drooling smilie was too crappy, not sure to be honest.

Drop a quad-cored dualie system in front of anyone who edits video or does 3D on a regular basis and they'll go positively orgasmic, that's who

I don't know if quad opertrons will be fast enough for Longhorn.

I am sure anyone here would go orgasmic about it, but few of us would be able to justify the price of such system as soon as it is released
Trust me.. if I had the chance, I would be all over such a system

Seriously though, I don't think a quad system will be very benefical to the OS itself. Maybe Windows will boot faster, but like Doc said, I think the Video/DCC guys will see the most improvements over dual core parallel computing. Windows launchs "fast enough "

I think we need faster hard drives for Windows to launch faster.

BTW, I probably wouldn't want to ride on a MSFT spacecraft... because they CRASH so frequently

                            um... Microsoft Cat Food 1.0
