Well it's nothing definite yet...but I for one would love a Tarantino Bond, if there's anyone who can make all those "Pussy Galore" type comments & references funny, it's him.

As for Eric Bana...I find it very hard to see him as Bond, but hey, through the magic of makeup, who knows.

Tarantino doing a Bond flick would utterly remove all the class and high style which absolutely typify Bond and replace it with typical Tarantino-style smarminess. I too think Bana would be miscast. I thought I had heard something about Russell Crowe wanting to do it.. he would be perfect and a half.

LMAO! Have you seen the most recent Bond movies?!? Tarantino directing it could only be an improvment compared to the recent trend.

Well, Casino Royale really should have been done first. Connery would have been great in it.. so would George Lazenby. That was the classiest of the classy Bond stories. You do have to wonder about the torture segment which went on for 40 pages or so though.. Fleming is a closet S&M freak? Maybe Tarantino wouldn't be so out of place here after all.

Personally I think Hugh Jackman would be great as Bond, but his plates pretty full with X3 and a ton of other projects.

BTW: this is a hilarious letter published by E! Online. It's from Wolverine to Superman regarding director Bryan Singer being "stolen" from the X-Men franchise for the Superman movie....

Watched to many years of Eric Bana as a comedian on a lot of comedy shows in oZ to really think of him as a 007.

I must say Russel Crowe does seem better for bond than Bana, might be able to get back to the Sean Connery kind of Bond.

Hugh Jackman sounds like a good candidate aswell.

Eric Bana is a great actor.
                  Bond is a horrible character.
Tarantino might make a Bond movie bearable.

although I personnaly think a Tarantino Bond movie would be great, I don't know how a lot of other Bond fans would react. As for who is playing Bond, I think MGM should get on their knees and beg Pierce to come back.

I think the next Bond should be a relative nobody. Does anyone remember a single thing Connery or Moore did before they played James Bond?

As for the Tarantino ... as long as it's old school Bond, I don't care. Bronson got the short end of the stick while he was Bond. He was a fantastic Bond, stuck in sub-par movies. He tried to get MGM, or whoever does Bond these days, to go back to the style of the classic Connery bond movies, but they wanted their marketing blitz to make more $$$.

Now that was an interesting typo, can you imagine Charles Bronson as Bond?

"Eric is the guy they want but he has a reputation for being demanding. They want to modernise Bond and turn him into a youthful, suave and modern hero to compete with the likes of Spiderman and Keanu (Reeves) in the Matrix," the source said.

LoL i was having the same thoughts... hehe..
anyways if Tarantino kept to old-school style bond it might actually turn out well (though it might be a very long bond movie )

They always try to get actors with british links to play Bond so i guess most american actors are out.. Australian actors are the exception i guess ---> George Lazenby??? (wasnt there already a bond movie of the name Casino Royale with David Niven also an englishman as Bond? even though i suppose it is more of a spoof) or are Australian considered more British??

It would be interesting to see a straight version of "Casino Royale" though I loved Woody's rendition. I also think Tarantino could do a really good job getting Bond back to its essence. I still think there was only one real Bond but Dalton did a great job and I'm sorry he didn't continue with the series. Moore was the worst thing that has happened to the Bond films. I always thought of him as the Saint and he never fit the part. They also got way off the classical style on the Moore films and they just wanted to show off their special effects using slo-mo ... repulsive. Tarantino could get us back to a real spy ambience but I'm really worried about the comments about modernizing the character. Modernization is proper but I hope they keep Flemming's interpretation of Bond intact.
