  • System Upgrade Fears

After trying second 850 CPU on my BE-6 w/o success. I am looking at new motherboard. Would go with BX chipset, but I'm having some trouble finding either the board or chips in stock anywhere. Now looking at a Tbird upgrade, but I am a little apprehensive given all I have read over the years about problems with VIA chipsets. Would I be ok putting my G400-TV and other existing cards and harddrives into a barebones system with the following:

    Asus A7V-133 Raid motherboard
    Tbird 1GHz chip
    256MB PC-133 SDram
AMD approved case & power supply

My existing system works fine, except it won't do full frame capture w/o the Matrox hardware assist. Should I leave well enough alone, or take the plunge? Anyone have a similar system working with the G-400TV?

IF you want a BX board then I'd recommend trying an Asus CUBX. It's basically the P3B-F with socket 370 instead of slot 1. Either are very good boards.

Your list sounds like a decent TBird plan to me.
