  • odd litle bits (artifacts) in video

Does any one know what causes this? I get it when I do a final render of any movie.

They are pretty random and happen a lot.

I am using Preimere 6.5 for editing. Comp is, Amd 2600+, 1gb 333 ddr, motherboard DFS NSII Ultra, Video card is ATI 9600 256 mb.

    I am at a loss...

    Thanks,

    Jeff

It almost looks like tape dropout. You might want to check that area of your project, frame by frame, to make sure there isn't a dropout there that is causing those blocks.

You could hardly get dropout on a title during rendering, I suggest that you may have a memory fault on the graphics card or the main RAM. The best thing to do is to save the rendered file and see whether you get the problem when you play it back on a different computer. If you don't, then it's probably just a graphics card problem.

            Thanks for the responses everyone.

I figured it out. I moved the project and files to an external drive (USB2) and rendered the same part with no problems. I am now finding errors on one of my raid drives. This sux. Also my camera is now adding the same errors when I move the film to my computer (tried on multiple computers) so it was both problems. I have access to a GL1 for pulling the film, so no problem there but the drive will need to be replaced. I whish I could film with the GL as well... Neat camera.
