    Anyone with a P650/750 here?

    If yes, could you please tell what

    xdpyinfo | grep -i xv

    and

    xvinfo

    say (while running XFree86 of course)?

    I´m just curious... (On the MPlayer list someone had trouble loading MPlayer´s xv video-output with his P650)

      This is bad karma ;-) The more I think of Matrox the more I remember my old Amiga days... back in the early/mid 90ies when we were told for several years "Just wait, next year there will be an A4000 successor, better than anything you ever saw!". And we know the road Commodore has taken...

        I know someone who has a P650 and runs Xandros... unfortunately he's kind of an idiot... and even though I did go over to his house and set up the mtx drivers, he then re-installed Xandros several times (being a windows user, that's all he knows how to do to try to fix issues) so he's still running Vesa, and wouldn't know grep from diff....

        I can run it on my Parhelia.... it is the same driver, but I don't know what exactly would be the difference hardware wise....

          As a quick side note, did you try posting this question on the Matrox Tech Support forums? There are several people posting on there that have the P650/P750

            ...not necessary any more I guess. I found something at http://forum.matrox.com/mga/viewtopic.php?t=4599
            where someone has posted his XFree86.0.log and it seems there´s a "mtx" module that enables XVideo support. That´s all I wanted to know, when I saw the message of this guy in the MPlayer mailing list I thought for a second Matrox would have delivered drivers without XV support.
            Nevertheless, it´s a bit sad to see that Matrox is not willing to continue its Linux support that once made the G400 so popular among the penguins... I´ve just learned that after the G[2,4]00 chips they have dropped TV-Out support for Linux, which is a feature I´d like to have in a card replacing my aging G400.
