I only get half of that on my system.

My main work machine gets about 875/839 MB/s. :(

Tyan Thunder K8W with two Opteron 246 ... :D

if you run WinXP or Win2k, you could try to enable the /PAE boot switch option

Only major bugger for now is that using the /PAE option for starting WinXP, seems to render my parallel port dongle for Digital Fusion useless, so that I cannot benefit from that awesome memory performance, but will have to stick to those lousy 4GB/sec throughput, until it got sorted out.

true, but I'm not really keen on jumping ship on first sight.

Usually, I wait at least until a 2nd generation surfaces and everything got extensively tested in the real world.
