Open a new Title Clip.
Once you have the font/style/size set and have typed in the text apply the Pop-Up1 title Animation effect.
Next open the "Customize" menu and set the "Unit" option to "Character". Next set the "Direction" to the right pointing arrow.
Do a preview and you'll see the typewriter effect. If you like you can click "Add" to save it for later re-use.
OK your way out and place the title on the timeline. You can now change the duration of the title clip to set the typing speed.
