G400 and Directx 9

Hello All:

I am still using my old trusty G400 millenium single head in my workhorse.

I seem to recall having read somewhere that it does not support MS Directx 9.

Can someone confirm [hopefully] that I am wrong?

You can run DX9 on the card with no probs, but the card does not support all the new functions in DX9.

Better use it with a powerfull cpu, since all the new features are running in software...

But what exactly do you need DX9 for? Or was it a more principal question?

Curently I am running Directx 8.1 - and although the machine is based in an Athlon 2600XPM @ 2.1 gig [so I could probably handle DX 9] my question was mostly 'in principle'.
