  • WinDVD 6 out with major new feature

WinDVD 6 trial is now available from the intervideo site, and it has a motion compensated interpolating feature, much like 100 Hz PAL TV owners have been enjoying for some years now..

I tried it, and it works great on some DVD content, while on other there were major bugs popping up (edges around the video vanishing/reappearing dynamically). Ah well, this is intervideo we're talking about, so I'm not surprised.

But it's interesting nonetheless to check out.

btw I had to set the dword 'USEDNM' in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InterVideo\DVD6 to '1', and had to force the deinterlacing technique to 'force weave' on the VOB I tested (which happened to be film-based PAL), before the motion compensated interpolation kicked in.
