  • Dil's dumb question

Ok, I am a complete n00b to this video stuff. But I have a client who wants to burn his vid camera videos to (CD) to show family. What format/programs etc is required to do this type of stuff? And he dont have a dvd burner atm, so is he looking at hardware or just vcd formats? :clueless:

VCD /SVCD is probably the best bet for palyback on most component dvd players.

But if the have an mpeg 4 compatible player divx /xvid mp3 is probably the go.

try doom9.org for all the tools you will need for either.

PS this should be in desktop video not digital imaging.

Yes, VCD is the way to go. TMPGEnc is a free MPG encoder with very high quality output, and was the de-facto standard when I last looked into this (which was a while ago).

I'll let VJ do the moving, if he wants
