  • best encoder for ripping avi files

    Hi All,
What export will give the best quality:
adobe export, ligos, or the matrox realtime export ? I have the rt.x100 and just want the best files. Also is there a easy calculor for determining how high a settings for the time of footage with a full sterio wav file? Some of the concerts are short and I could make them bigger for higher quality dvd image. I've heard if I make them too big, they will not play on all dvd players. Some files are over 2 hours by a little. Is there that big a drop off if I drop it to a lower rate? What is the maximum and minimum setting? Any suggestions? I'm using premiere 6.5, dvdit pe, and wavelab. Thanks Nunchal

No one has an opinion on a mpeg 2 encoder? Those that have the rt.x100 , what do you use for your best encode? Mindwarper

IMHO, the best encoding is now MainConcept (used in DVDWS2 and DVDMF3), followed by TMBGEnc

        Hi,

        For mpeg encoders, I like:
        - Mainconcept (for some reason the standalone version is much faster than the version found in Ulead's DWS2 and DMF3)
        - CinemaCraft's CCE Basic (a price/performance/quality leader)
        - TMPGenc (it has alot more than just mpeg encoding).

        Fot bitrate calculations:
Video forums, video software downloads, guides, blu-ray players and media.

        Regards,
        George
