  • interlacced AVI

I'm using Avi_Io to capture some video in resolution 480x480 huffy 2.11.

I don't have drop frames (only 1 or 2), but
    the video is interlacced.

My idea is to convert this video avi file in to svcd.

Using TMPGenc is possible to deinterlacce the video and choose the field (A or B) and
    the result is GREAT.

Is it possible to capture directly using field B (Or A) to save some time during mpeg2 encoding ?

    Thanks

By capturing to a delaced mode you lose half the vertical data and resolution. NotGood. The other disadvantage to delaced SVCD is that interlaced actually plays back better to a TV.

The only time delacing is of advantage is if you get artifacts when applying moving paths, titles or overlays. Only then should you set the field options to FRAME mode for that clip only in your editor. You would still render the project as interlaced video for improved TV compliance.
