  • MSP6 Error Message "Failed to build preview graph"

Having chased this installation around for a week now, I have reinstalled sw and hw many times but to no avail.

The problem - MSP6VP patch11 installed, when trying to capture video from a Panasonic DV110 camera the capture program will control the camera fine, will capture a single frame fine but as soon as I go to capture a video sequence the error message " failed to build preview graph ......" is reported. Can you help ?

    Hardware - AMD 750, G400DH, Pyro dv, 128mb ram.

    Software - Win98se, MSP6VE patch11, msdv drivers.

    Thanks
    Tony

Which motherboard model do you have

    It may be BIOS settings?

A couple of other things to check first on your availble info

Make sure you are using MS DV Camera & VCR
    for MS 1394 device drivers.

Thanks for the info, MB is a Gigabyte GA-71XE.

I have had everything working on this board before and as far as I am aware no changes have been made to the bios settings. Have you ever come across this error message ?
      thanks

I have heard of 'failed to build preview graph' before. Windows reinstall is certain fix

        Non intel chipsets info

A removal of your cam from Device Manager in Safe mode & a reinstall of the MS driver may help.

I had the same error message several months back. After several contacts with Ulead and the firewire manufacturer and numerous suggestions from this forum the only fix for me was a reinstall of windows.

A few months back a fellow posted a message with the same problem but was able to fix wihout a reinstall. I would suggest you do a search of this forum with the error message as the search keywords and see what you can find.

I've seen it when my system has been low on resources but not otherwise.
