  • British Courtesy

An American tourist in London found himself needing to take a leak
something terrible. After a long search he just couldn't find any public
bathroom to relieve himself. So he went down one of the side streets
    to take care of business.

Just as he was unzipping, a London police officer showed up. "Look
here, old chap, what are you doing?" the constable asked.

"I'm sorry," the American replied, "but I really gotta take a leak."

"You can't do that here," the officer told him. "Look, follow me."
The police officer led him to a beautiful garden with lots of grass,
pretty flowers, and manicured hedges. "Here," said the policeman,
    "whiz away."

The American tourist shrugged, turned, unzipped, and started
pissing on the flowers. "Ahhh," he said in relief. Then turning toward
the officer, he said, "This is very nice of you. Is this British
    courtesy?"

"No," replied the policeman. "It's the French Embassy."

        Hehe...
Tomorrow I'll be in Paris for a short trip. Yes I will, really.
I wonder how the French courtesy will be there.

                  French courtesy is an oxymoron

Excuse me, but why is it that everybody seems to hate "the french"? This is an honest question, and please, don't let this turn into a temp-thread.

Well, many of them (especially those of Paris) pride themselves for being so obnoxious to foreigners.
You can find many British and American comedians talking about their experiences with the French while visiting France.

It's just an anglo-franco thing. We don't hate the french, we just 'love to hate' the french

                          To quote Eddie Izzard:
So since then, they’ve been kind of spiky and kind of, French. And, uh… I’m very positive on the French. I – my family way back was French, so I’m – just – yeah, I go with it, but they are kind of, well, ****ing French… “All of Europe, you must do this!” “Well, we’re not gonna. Umm…we’re gonna have a sandwich.”

The French courtesy being an oxymoron is not true, at least in my experience.

Although their stance on English is: "Nous n'aimons pas des Anglais."
