use 2 monitors for gaming...?

Is it possible to do a form of surround gaming on Parhelia using only 2 monitors ? I know there will be a gap in the middle, but I'd like to try it nevertheless...

How does one configure a game to do it ?

Isn't it just a case of using merged desktop mode? (And hoping your game supports arbitrary resolutions)
