  • Dell 2001FP

Got my Dell 2001FP today. It's one big mumma. Nice not used to all this desk space. Only problem it seems to suffer from the power safe problem that effects many other users.

When using the DVI input the monitor is stuck in power save mode.

Happens with any video card not just ATI. ATI drivers up too 3.7 seem best. However mine doesn't get that far.

If you hunt through the thread you see a link to the Dell forums. It's a major problem.

              Not just ATI cards though.
Anyway seems to be working fine now. Just have to remember power pc on wait a few seconds switch on monitor. No problem.
Switch both on striaght away and you get stuck power save.

Well my views of it so far.

Great for gaming and movie play back. No blurring or artifacts.

Picture can look a bit grainy at times when reading text. So for text my Samsung 181T was better.

ClearType is THE best thing MS has done to its GUI since Win95.

To my eyes claertype blurs this screen, even through DVI, its like its interpolating the resolution when you use cleartype.
