  • Best Matrox Card for Single DVI

Matrox web site has lots of info on the DUAL capabilities of their cards but do they all support a single DVI monitor solution as well? G400, G450, G550??? Looking for single DVI video card for business applications, no advanced 3D required. What is the best value solution from Matrox for this?

G400 doesn't have DVI as standard, though I think there is an upgrade for the single-head cards. But that'll be very hard to find, so don't bother.

G450 and G550 both come in DVI versions, and are probably more or less equal. (G450 also has a PCI version, which might be handy.) Just be aware that the maximum DVI resolution for these cards is 1280x1024 - if you want more than that over DVI you'll have to get a P-series or look at other makes of card.
Blah blah blah nick blah blah confusion, blah blah blah blah frog.

Thanks for the info. You mention the G450 and G550 come in DVI "versions". Does this mean there are 2 different model numbers within each card? A G450 Analog, and a G450 Digital ??

        AFAIK there are:
        G450 PCI (DVI + VGA) 32MB
        G450 PCI (2xVGA) 16MB
        G450 AGP LX 16MB 1xVGA OEM
        G450 AGP 2x VGA

        G550 single DVI low profile
        G550 dual DVI
        G550 AGP + DVI

New cards that are generally available:
G450 is in retail channels only in PCI flavour.
G550 is available in dual DVI or VGA+DVI flavous
