  • Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow - Demo

    Hello,
    I downloaded the Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow - Demo with a view to get it running in Surround ... and it seems to have all the usual settings in the ini files... so it might well work... as Splinter Cell did...
    BUT...
    I can't get it to load at all...
    As it starts up it just drops back to the desktop.... any ideas ?

    Demo here ...

          Don't think that's right.
          Posted by me in that thread.
          It can't require PS1.4 if they support GeForce 3 (PS1.1). It also mentions GeForce4s as supported, which is PS1.3 just like Parhelia.

              Still no chance to get it working with the DX9 final & beta driver?

                  Well I could live with all problems that the card+drivers had in the last 1.5 years (I don't have the time to play very often), but the FarCry and Splinter Cell2: Pandora Tomorrow problems are really annoying.
                  I hope this will get fixed - SOON (TM).

                    I just read the last post from KngtRider:

                    [Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow]
                    ===========================
                    I got it to work by using 3D Analyser by using the force ps1.4 and bypass 1.3 check options, and the game works fine.
                    [Correction]
                    You only need to select these settings in 3D Analyser:
                    -force max. pixel shader version 1.4
                    and
                    -skip pixel shader version 1.4

                    The following are sideeffects of the forced ps ver
                    *Fisher glows in night vision mode
                    *Floor of the train is stuffed/missing/not rendered
                    *BSOD in parh drv after quickload

                    Other that that, game works fine and so do the player shader effects, ie night/spectrum vision.
                    ===========================

                    What "3D Analyser" does he mean and where can I get it?

                    [Edit1]
                    It seems I found it:
                    Supporto utenti 3dfx;download free di driver utility tweaker screenshot giochi patch screensaver per schede grafiche Voodoo Ati Matrox Nvidia XGI

                    I start the splintercell2.exe in the offline directory of the game with 3D Analyser!

                    [Edit2]
                    It's working, but there are some graphic glitches you have to live with (sometimes textures disappear) and when I try to load a saved game after I've made a mistake, the computer reboots (bluescreen visible for 0.5 sec or so).

                    [Edit3]
                    To get around this reboot problem, you have to get back to Single Player menu first and load your savegame from there (this is the place where you start after loading the game).

                    Great game even with these problems.

                      Hi magog,
                      Is there any way to get it working across three screens with 3D Analyser ?

                        Hi Paddy!

                        Sorry, I've got 3 screens (2*CRT + 1*TFT), but the TFT is 60 km (one tour) away from my current location (home).
                        Maybe I'll bring it with me next weekend (but I need to clean up me desk first - no space left for all the CRT screens).
                        If far as I've seen 3D Analyser has no "Surround" options.
                        If you can give me the settings, that needed to be changed in the old Splinter Cell 1 I'll try the same with Splinter Cell 2.

                          Hi magog,
                          To get it working in surround change ...

                          In the system folder ...
                          Change the SplinterCell2.ini .... these two lines

                          WindowedViewportX=800
                          WindowedViewportY=600

                          to ...

                          WindowedViewportX=2400
                          WindowedViewportY=600

                          and in the SplinterCell2User.ini

                          Change these these two lines ...

                          DesiredFOV=70.0
                          DefaultFOV=70.0

                          to ...

                          DesiredFOV=138.0
                          DefaultFOV=138.0

                          Thanks ... looking forward to your findings !

                              Sorry, I haven't been able to get the TFT back home. I had to lent my mother my car, because her 18 year old Mercedes Benz is broken (engine said game over - after 281000km). Now she's looking for a new car (2 years old) and in the meantime she will get mine, because I can live without it.
