Does anybody know if they make PC slot fans anymore? More specifically, ones that will work with XP?

Give it up man. You're going entirely the wrong direction with this laptop.

I assume you want a PCMCIA fan because you think it will help with a faster CPU. I highly doubt that it will.

It will help simulate a faster CPU - by draining the battery faster.

Just buy Antec Lanboy or similar handy case and build a gaming rig.

Nooo, I'm not getting a faster cpu, I was just wondering if they still make them. My notebook does get really hot though, and I was just looking at different mediums to keep it cooler. And for the most part my notebook is plugged into an outlet.

And I am building one, btw, I just thought I'd see what notebook cooling features are out there, because like I said, mine is getting really really hot. I plan on building a modded case pretty soon.

Notebooks do get pretty hot, that's normal. Desktops also get pretty hot, but you rarely have your keyboard 2cm from the CPU.

A PCMCIA fan wouldn't do much anyway. Just leave it as it is - notebook cooling systems are designed to be just right.

Ok, well, thanks anyways, just though I'd check it up.

If you mostly have it plugged in, remove the battery

it will be better for the battery and remove one source of heat

I do believe there are some laptopstands, if you use your laptop on a desk. Main purpose is to allow better cooling towards the bottom. But I don't know if it is worth it, comfortable to work with or who makes it...

Main purpose is to elevate the screen to a more tolerable level, and to make room for a decent keyboard and mouse
