Three years ago, more or less, I asked about software RT possibilities. Now, I can afirm that with new 64 bits CPUs, OSs and Programs we will see a lot of changes.
HDs are very fast now and memory access also. 3D GAMES cards are used to assist the RT preview and final render.
Probably the new 64 bits combo will make RT boards useless.
