  • Premiere Pro unstable system

    Hi All

Received the upgrade from 6.5 to Pro. Installed on a freshly formatted HDD.

My system has been unstable since installing. On occasions when starting Pro the system will reboot. On other occassions the system will reboot on exiting Pro.

    Anyone with a resolution please.

    Regards

Maybe it is not the direct answer but why not give a chance Ulead Media Studio?
Its stability opposite to Premiere just rocks

Dasher has the RT.X10 which will not work in RT with Ulead.

Dasher, I suggest you take a look at the Matrox forum for additional information.

Anyway maybe you can give us some more info on how your RT.X10 is setup, including PCI slot it's installed etc.

      Thanks,
      Elie

        Hi Guys

I may have the prob fixed. Downloaded the latest drivers for the Millenium G550.

So far so good. I have also taken out the Phillips sound card and I am using the RealTek onboard sound card.

        Must get a Turtle Beach.

The amount of misinformation that sometimes makes it way on this board is amazing. To equate Ulead with stability, as opposed to Premiere Pro, is contemptible. I use Vegas, Ulead, and Premiere Pro (on several different systems) with my film students at a state university, so I know the three programs rather well. Premiere Pro is not only the most stable NLE our department has ever experienced, its output quality far exceeds the other two programs. People should really investigate their self-serving, often stupid opinions, before posting on public message boards.

I think everyone has different experiences. These are a result of the many combinations of software and hardware that can be in a system.I believe people are truly offering THEIR experienced info and consequently I for one welcome that.It is up to me to qualify how it applies to my situation.Post your opinion, qualify it with YOUR experience but I think flaming someone for theirs is a degradation that just does not serve anyone on "public message boards".
