  • SCO goes after DaimlerChrysler

    From: Firingsquad

What are these people doing? AutoZone I can sorta understand, but DaimlerChrysler is HUGE. Besides, it's run by Germans. If there's one people in Europe you don't screw with, it's the Germans. Trust me, I'm Polish, I know that very well. News.com is gracious enough to host the PDF of the lawsuit.

Turkish: Tommy, what is a gun doing in your trousers? Tommy: It's for protection. Turkish: Protection from who? Zee Germans?

They are suing the company that once signed a contract to buy rights to the intermitent windshield wiper, then stole the design, cancelled the contract and went to court to settle it because, "it was cheaper in the long run to do it that way." I don't see SCO having a fighting chance against DaimlerChrylser.

I see RAMBUS part 2 going on real soon.

So far, they alienated general public and enthusiasts (which comprise large percentage of Open Source/Linux users).

And they, without being profitable and having a compelling product started suing industry giants such as IBM and Chrysler.

This does not bode well for them.

M had many issues w Parhelia.. some hardware and some BIOS releated. gbm was contacted to resolve these (you can't fix hardware with BIOS fixes, but that's another genius idea DW had). gbm supplied a list of needed changes (quite extensive). But instead of contracting him todo (as would be through the agreement), DW decided to cut him out of the picture and implement with total disregard.

Dunno how it relates here, but sure why not. Do you happen to have the list of needed changes?
