  • Windows NT 4 Device Manager

Anybody knows is there any unnoficial Device Manager for
WinNT which has look and functionality of Device Managers
    of other Windows versions?

    Or

Anybody tried to use some Device Manager files from
Win2K to enable standard Device Manager on NT?
    If Yes, which files?

Any tips, any help? I'm trying to find something about this
because I want to experiment with it on PC at my work which
have installed professional video-editing software maked only
    for NT.

My english isn't perfect so I'm hope You understand what I need...

    Thanks!

NT4 is pure nightmare when it comes to that since it has no PNP suport, What it do have is an UGLY hack. (some halfhearted suport for ISA PNP cards)

      BTW:

Where is device manager in Windows NT 4?
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

        NT4 Device Manager

        ...Control Panel >> Devices
        ...Control Panel >> Services

there are services that also depend on devices, so be careful when disabling devices...and vice versa

i've never heard of any third party software...NT4 blows big in this area but does have its' uses

Thanks for trying to help but it's not what I asked...

I know for services and devices but I'm wondering if
it's possible to make Device Manager more user-friendly
          (like on Win2K/XP)...

I think this is impossible but want to hear your experinces...
Maybe somebody have some additional files for WinNT which
          enables additional functionality.
