  • Some one is using my e-mail !

I have started to receive these undelivered messages, when I have sent no e-mails at all, obviously some one is using my address to spam, and everything is returning to me, all the undelivered mail.

    That is one of them:

    Hi,

The spam has gotten absolutely out of control and I have found myself missing legitimate emails among all the junk. I apologize if this causes you any inconvenience, but it will allow me to address your message much more quickly. Thanks.

Just this once, click the link below so I can receive your emails. You won't have to do this again.

Would you guys have a clue how to stop this, I should probably ring my ISP and tell them the situation :/

Track down the server that is acting as a relay for the faked messages and ask them to stop being an open relay. If they refuse, get them blacklisted.

Would you be able to tell anything if sent you a message source file ?

yup. But what you really need is the full message as received by one of the spammer's victims.

I gets loads of that and it is a right pain in the arse.

What is also quite funny is for my domain name I actually get undelivered mails from accounts that don't exist.

Message from louise@galleryof3d.com was unable to be delivered to recipient etc etc.

I should hope so as she doesn't exist let alone the email address, get a crap load more for my active accounts though.

Another entertaining things is receiving spam from yourself, well a made up address using your own domain.

              Check out http://www.us.sorbs.net/.

They have a spam fighting FAQ and links to info about how to read message headers.

For a while, some spammers were using my company's domain name for their spam. We didn't really pursue it; they stopped after a few weeks.

              Good Luck.
              P.S. You've been Spanked!

It's more likely a virus and you're in someones address book or you're someones mailing list whos also infected.

Same thing is happening to me. I gave up after forwarding 20 or so instances of this message to my ISP abuse department.

No, it has not stopped yet

Pit hit the nail on the head. It's a virus problem in remote computers. Can't even tell whose computer unless you are on a very limited list of contacts.
