  • Editing with Ulead MediaStudio Pro6.5

Hello everybody! Any expert with msp6.5? Need help on the captured resolution for editing. I capture at 480x480 and sometimes 740x480 with my pixelview capture card using huff. Then I edit with msp6.5. After that I frameserve using uleadframeserver by videotools. I open the dummy .avi in virtualdub to resize it by 352x240 for vcd ntsc. I then frameserve without compression and open in tmpgenc. The result is a bit blurred. What do you think I should do to increase the quality?

Appreciate anybody's help. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
i could tell a few words about the conversion process:
    1. I think (not quite sure because i live in PAL world) that 320 * 240 is valid for NTSC vcd and not 352 * 240.
    2. Before you resize in vdub add the deinterlace filter first.
    3. After you resize you can apply a little of the unsharp mask filter and then frameserve.
    4. Check that the bitrate is adequate on Tmpgenc and donot apply any of tmpgenc's filters.
This is what i did when i was making (x)vcds.
    Hope that helped.

      Hi Mits,

Thanks for the tip! I just checked virtualdub, it has no unsharp mask filter. I only see the sharpen filter which is built-in. Do I suppose to download it, where can I find one.

Yes, vdub has some embedded filters, but you can also download and install extra filters found around the net. Some of these filters are quite remarkable and useful. Check this url http://neuron2.net/

Downloaded a copy, I'll try this filter out. Let's see what will come out. Again thanks a lot.
