Isn't there a theory stating that there will be a stable heavy element ?

yup, something about the number of protons/neutrons. nr. 114 was one of those, iirc.

113 lasted for more than second?? That seems "long" to me....

114 apparantly was created by 1999. Did not say they were stable.

gnah, now you have sent me googling....

The existence of element 114 is important because it would offer strong evidence for the long-sought-after superheavy "magic island" of stability first predicted in the 1960s. The most stable isotope on the island is though to have 114 protons, 184 neutrons (nine more than the Dubna isotope), and a half-life measured in millions of years, albeit with large error bars.

wonder if they got the neutron-number right in 1999.

Ah, they're close to making the element "unobtainium" from the worst movie ever made, The Core.

Worst movie ever made? Not even close. Ishtar and others beat Core by a mile......with Cat in the Hat being the most recent example of cinematic terrorism
