  • Problem with new speakers

Hey... just went out and bought a 5.1 speaker system for my computer. The only problem I'm having is that the output on my audigy card is so quiet that I can't hear the center or subwoofer. If I unplug the Front's and Rears and turn the volume up all the way I can hear it but its not that loud... now if I turn the volume down and plug the Sub and Center into either where the front or rears go... its volume is what it should be... does this mean that the analog/digital out on the Audigy puts out less power than the Front and Rear Speaker outputs or is there something I'm missing (and I do have the Center and Subwoofer Volume turned up all the way on both the speakers and in the Audigy Mixer.

Alright... I got the sub working by enabling Bass redirection and setting the crossover point... but now the center channel doesn't work at all.... ah well... at least I have base...

Although I'm guessing that if the music your listening to is a ripped copy of something then I'm guessing its not 5.1 encoded... I'll check out the lord of the rings DVD I have to see if that works.

If it's stereo, you'll get sound on the front + sub. If it's 5.1, you'll get it on all.

Yeah its what I figured out after playing around with it... This new setup is pretty good considering its not a name brand setup... before I just had two sets of 2.1's into the two regular outputs and this system puts that to shame.
