  • winxp SATA install question

As some of you may be aware I have had issues withmy system meaning I had togeta new board, power supply and disk. All is fine except now on wanting to doa fresh install and setting the SATA disk as boot winxp copies the files to another drive (one of the IDE drives) in the system. Thus after first reebot it just hangs as there isnothing for it to work on.

SATA on MSI KT600 FISR - ( and yes I know its VIA )

There is another working winxp and a win98 install on various disks - could it be picking that up somehow? Its just starnge how it doesnt want to copy to the correct place.

    any ideas....

I feel like a general/hardware post whore at the mo Anyway its late and im going to bed.................zzzzzzzz

I don't know about your Bios but my Bios allows me to set boot order to SCSI then allows me to pick either ATA or SATA Raid as one of the boot devices... you may just have to do this if you can...
