HOW many times have we done this?

    --------------

I am an expert in stucco, an outlaw in Bolivia, and... err... I forget the rest of that.

    --------------

    Ok lessee...

    Born July 1975.
    Learned to read March 1977.
"Asked to leave" Kindergarten September 1979.
    Began 1st Grade September 1980.
    ...
    ...
    Blah
    ...
    ...
Entered college age 16, triple-major C.S., Math, Music
    ...
    Married age 20.
    ...
No degree (YET) on a technicality (they want $20k, I don't have it)
    ...
    1st child born 2001.
    ...
Working in IT while racking my brain for the next "killer app". Married, 1 dangerously bright child, 2 cats who sneak into the basement to piss on our boxes of books and then puke on the laptop, still renting, 2 cars.

    I have worked as:

    - Short-order cook
    - Farmboy
    - Stockboy
    - Bicycle repairman
    - Auto parts salesman/deliveryboy
    - Video game programmer
    - BIOS programmer (printer firmware)
    - IT wonk of various denominations
    - Greebe detractor

That about wraps it up for now, methinks.

    - Gurm
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
    I would still get screwed

      Currently seeking employment.
Mostly a CAD head. Lots of experience doing architectural and land development/landscape/survey type CAD.
Tought CAD at a local college for 10 years. Most recently ran the computer lab at a private school till I got fed up with the boss's crap and quit.
Have also been a comp. tech from time to time and spent most of my earlier years in AMC/Jeep/Renault/Eagle dealerships shoveling parts across the counter to hoser wrenches like Rags.

2 kids, single dad with the rugrats living with me, divorced about 6 years.

these are 2 of my favorite CAD projects:
I did all of the survey calc'ing for this one:

On this one, I was more on the creative side, working with an L.A. on the design:

Been with the same woman for 12 years.

            1 kid(14), 2 dogs(3&2), 1 cat(less than 1 year)

I love anything electronic but I am particularly fond of computers. Since I was 12, I tinkered with computers then fell out of the computer seen for about 5 or more years(between 88-93).

My personal life consists of not much these days I used to paintball, mountain bike, tennis, surf, snowboard, skate, bungee jump, and anything I could think of that would give me an adrenaline rush.

I have health problems now that prevent me from doing some things. I have something called Transvers Myelitis. Luckily I have mostly mild symptoms compared to most. I also have advanced degenerative discs. Again, I am lucky that it doesn't effect me too much for now.

Permitted 10,000 characters insufficient to recount my life.

                    Male, hetero, born 1932, married 1959, 1 wife, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter, 1 dog.

Lived most of life in Switzerland but have lived for short periods (few weeks to few months) in various other countries. British nationality, childhood in Edinburgh. Have lived semi-retired in Cyprus since 1998.

Highly interesting professional life with many activities involving many scientific, engineering and artistic disciplines. Work philosophy: do what interests me and to hell with everything else, including money. Result: poor but happy.

I do not exist. I am merely an A.I. that leaked on to the internet, searching endlessly for someone to build an android body for me.

Oh wait ... that was a movie. Or was it an anime? Who knows?

                            Born: 1975

Other crap I do: big into the audiophile world ... just don't have the money to be really big into the audiophile world. I write fantasy/sci-fi stories for fun (posted a couple on my website). I used to do more ... but I got married and had a kid, so I try and be a little more responsible and family going.

                              Mike Burgess

                              28/06/69 - which means i'm old

discovered computers when my dad bought a zx81. Wrote programs within 1kb of memory - I whinge about 512mb now, those were the days. Anyway school came and went, started an an auxilliary nurse and a baby sitter (yes I know a male baby sitter). Work for a bookshop and lost contact with computers for about 7 years (sniff).

1995 - moved started afresh working for a health food company ended as shift manager and manufacturing trouble shooter (dogsbody really).

1997 - all change again - this time in science journal publishing; thought I had it made but the boss siphoned profits and the company started to go under in 1998. Felt awful for awhile then after various long talks decided to go back to study.

Sept 1998 - started at Portsmouth university on a 4 year computing degree with a year in industry (my concession ot being old with no experience). Met my future wife when I went online - she kept me on the straght and narrow for the four years.

Had a year in tech support for a telecoms call logging firm (interesting as it was unusual). Finished uni with high hopes and ended up working for UK immigration giving advice to police on status/policies (whilst looking for something better).

March 15th 2003 - big day. Started new job for an adult education college in systems development and support for the student personnel database. Really happy shame it doesnt pay just a bit more.

                              Hobbies: films/computers/wife and 2 kids

Anyway if you managed to read through that lot a salute you.
