I'm been using version 6 for a while now without any real problems.
Today I created a file as normal from a set of data and this weighed at 6mb rather than the normal 300k. I haven't done anything differently just converted from an html file in Excel.
Tried reducing the file size under the options and it still wieghs at 6mb. Any ideas???

Have you any posibility of trying to convert using the older version 5?

Nope but I can try doing the conversion using an older version of Excel. I'm pretty sure used 2003 Version of Excel last time but perhaps I didn't.

If you go into the Acrobat Distiller properties you can select the quality of the file. SOmeone may have set the quality to Publishing.

Or there may be something "tricksy" about the HTML file that you're overlooking.

Done the same thing with Office XP. File size at the end 232kb compaired to 6mb. So it's something to do with Excel 2003 and Acrobat writer 6. Dunno who's to blame.
I've compaired the settings as far as you can do. Microsoft like adding and moving stuff around and I can't see any differances.

It could be a problem with the Excel file. Try copying your data to a new workbook (only select the data, not the whole sheet).

Just yesterday I did this on an Excel sheet, shrinking it from 2MB to 30KB.

I used the same file for both last night and also recreated the file from scratch prevously and got the same results.
