There's a new feature in the new Parhelia 256 PCI called MATROX FANGUARD for prevent fan failture for heavy environments!
Does the original AGP Parhelia has it?
Can it be implemented in future drivers?
I think Parhelia has 3 wires tachimetric fan; so if the hardware can read RPM it should easily implemented in drivers!

The G400Max have the three wire fan too !!!

.... I don't know if the G400Max PCB / Chip have the hardware to READ the FAN speed, but does have the right type of FAN, with three wires.

Two or three years ago, i requested the same thing about G400Max to Matrox....

But at least the HW part to read the tachimeter speed was not present or the software part into the drivers was never developed.

Oggi ho fatto la stessa domanda nel forum ufficiale Matrox e Haig mi ha risposto che la Parhelia AGP non ha l'hardware necessario per monitorare i giri della ventola!
Per ora la Parhelia PCI è l'unica scheda Matrox con questa funzione!

Today i asked the same question in Matrox official forum and Haig answered me that AGP Parhelia doesn't have the needed components on the PCB for fan's RPM monitoring!
For now the Parhelia PCI is the only Matrox board with such feature.
