  • Spliting dv caputerd videos with Premiere ?

    Hi everyone!
I use Premiere 6.5 and i'm new with dv editing, so maybe it's stupid .
Here is my problem: i have this large fiel captured from my mini dv camera, and i want to split it in many chunks, so i can work easily with it. I tried to do it with Premiere : just importing the video, cutting the unwanted parts for the current section and exporting the timeline.
Here is my question: will Premiere recompress the video again with microsoft dv codec when i export it? I really would not like this ... Can it just copy it, like i would do in virtualdub?

    Thanks.
