  • Intellitype (MS Keyboard Drivers)

Ok, so I'm going nuts the other day.

The volume on my PC is really low.

    Nothing helps.

I've got everything cranked. I've checked the levels on the speakers, the wires are fine.

    Winamp is turned up.

    The mixer is turned up.

The wave out is turned up.

The master volume is turned up.

    ...

    So I'm getting ALL frustrated.

Julie walks by, says "what's wrong?" and I tell her.

She says "oh yeah, I turned that down", and reaches out and hits the volume keys on the MS multimedia keyboard... and everything goes back to normal.

    ...

    So why am I posting?

MS's damn KEYBOARD driver... has a SEPARATE volume filter, that is applied AFTER the master volume! WTF!?!?!?!?!?

    Horrible!

We're using a PC as TV replacement at the moment, and use a cheap wireless keaboard as a remote (I couldn't find my TV card's remote), and you can basically choose between two volume levels: too quiet or too loud

There's an Opera in my macbook.

hehe......the nforce2 drivers seem to allow me to use my MM keys, without MS's excruciating "features"

and they do move the master volume...

        bwhaha! (sorry 'bout that)
I sometimes use the mute button on my Logitech keyboard (yah, I've installed the MS drivers on it) but the master volume slider moves accordantly when I push the up/down volume buttons on the keyboard.

Yeah it always worked like that for me too. I dunno if it's the "Multimedia Keyboard" settings, or this new Intellitype, but...
